Rep. Wagner On President Obama’s Budget: 'Same Old Failed Policies Of The Past'

Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement today in response to President Obama releasing his fiscal year 2014 budget.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement today in response to President Obama releasing his fiscal year 2014 budget.

“After a two month delay, President Obama finally delivered his budget to the American people.   Unfortunately, the President’s budget continues the same old failed policies of the past.  His plan calls for more taxes and more government and never balances.  The President just raised taxes on all Americans a few months ago, and no one should be talking about tax hikes during a time when our economy is still struggling and nearly a half a million people have given up hope of finding a job.  While I’m encouraged that the President is willing to take small steps to reform Social Security and Medicare, he fails to protect these programs from going bankrupt for future generations.  That is not only unacceptable it is un-American.

“The American people demand that Washington get its fiscal house in order with responsible reforms that put our country on a path to a balanced budget in 10 years.  That’s why I voted for a plan that balances our budget in ten years with smart reforms and spending reductions. The House Republican budget will cut wasteful spending, reform our broken tax code, protect and strengthen our national security, and repair our social safety net to make them stronger and sustainable for future generations.

“For the people of the 2nd District, a balanced budget means more jobs, it means a better standard of living, and it means a more secure retirement for all Americans. It’s time we start lifting up and fighting for the nurses, teachers, first responders, carpenters, and shop owners and stop growing government and giving away taxpayer bailouts that only result in less money in your pocket and a mortgaging of our children’s future.”

Anyone here who actually believes this economy is a normal recovery is totally uneducated on How it's being done. LOANS!!. Your own household would experience economic growth ,IF YOUR NEIGHBORS borrowed money on their homes and ---Gave it to YOU. Your Economic Home would certainly go up , but your neighbors would go down--- AN EQUAL AMOUNT. Your neighbors would OWE money back to the banks for those loans. Now, substitute "The whole country" for the "economy" (That's YOU taking the money) and then figure out who the neighbor is???? Congratulations, Obama just took Trillions in LOANS (he is your neighbor) and put it into all of our pockets "CALLED THE ECONOMY". He has done Zilch to correct the problems. Just like a Child that keeps feeding their Drug addictions with "Dad's" money. Poverty---Welfare---unemployed---Underemployed will keep getting worse while never feeling the pain as more "FREE MONEY" comes from Obama and his total ignorance of how to manage anything. Where are the Benghazi survivors to talk to?? We all have the Newtown survivors like leaches on congress. FREE paid for by every taxpayer. Free rides on Air Force one. I have no sympathy for families that would use a tragedy to make a political statement. Shame on them. I mourned for 9 months without public contact after losing my 19 year old child. It matters Not -how a child dies. SHAME ON THIS BUDGET OF OBAMA. It does not "BUDGE" anything toward getting this USA back to Financial freedom.

ReverePaul: Is there any MSNBC or ABC or NBC or CBS Cool-aid?

ReverePaul: More Taxes does not increase the total economy By one CENT. Why can't you understand that?. You cannot make a welfare recipient or additional unemployment check create an economic boom!. So rather than trying to figure where people come from or who they listen to, why don't you answer 2 questions. 1) Do you know how much $17 trillion dollars is? simple question! simple answer! 2) Tell us all how Obama's budget pays off the $17 trill Loans . (It was $10Trill when he took over)

To Circuru: You wrote: "his (obama) budget has the framework needed to at least get the two sides to talk to each other with everything on the table" Like voting "absent". That's what Obama has done all his life. Two sides have been talking for years, so now you want to credit Obama with a budget that only "gets the sides talking" WOW!
