“Relic Quarry: New Work by Amy Reidel” at STLCC-Meramec Art Gallery
St. Louis Community College-Meramec presents “Relic-Quarry: New Work by Amy Reidel” Oct. 3-25 in the Meramec Contemporary Art Gallery on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road in Kirkwood.
There will be an opening session 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
Reidel’s multimedia work investigates the relationship between colorful, scientific imagery, and pop and religious iconography. Motivated by existential themes like life and death, meaning and absurdity, reason and religion, Reidel’s paintings installations, collages and videos show a fascination with weather, geology and Catholicism.

The Meramec Contemporary Art Gallery is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday; and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed on Sundays and holidays. Gallery admission and the opening reception are free and open to the public.
