California Man Charged in Fatal Accident Involving Vianney Graduate

St. Louis County Court records show Dale Kawamura was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Assault in connection with the Olive Boulevard crash that killed Clayton Pfeiffer.

Patch has confirmed that prosecutors have charged Dale Kawamura, 36, of Oakland, CA, in connection with the on Olive Boulevard near Creve Coeur Mill Road which claimed the life of 2011 graduate .

Kawamura has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and assault. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Chesterfield police said Kawamura was driving with meth in his system.

Police said Kawamura's vehicle was heading eastbound on Olive and struck Pfeiffer's vehicle and another.

According to court records, the charges were filed June 13. The Post-Dispatch reports Kawamura was not currently in custody. Efforts to confirm if he is custody in California were not successful late Wednesday afternoon.

Pfeiffer was a freshman at Missouri Baptist University, where he played baseball. At Vianney, Pfeiffer was member of the Lettermen’s Club and a baseball player. He played second base for the 2011 team that earned third place in state competition, according to the school's website.
