Car Accident, Wrong-Way Driving Leads to DWI Arrest

Kirkwood police said they received a number of calls about a wrong-way driver prior to a minor accident that led to a DWI arrest.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Tuesday, Feb. 26:

At 4:02 p.m., police received several calls about a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction on Kirkwood Road near Essex Avenue. Police said the car was later involved in a minor accident at the intersection of Kirkwood Road and Washington Avenue. Police said no injuries were reported, but the driver of the car was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
