Car Break-Ins, DWI Arrest Top Recent Kirkwood Police Activity

Kirkwood police report four thefts from cars near local businesses in one night, plus a traffic stop lands a driver under arrest.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Friday, Feb. 8:

At 10:14 a.m., police were called to Thorncliff Lane for an attempted residential burglary. A piece of outdoor furniture was moved near the home and a window screen bent away from a window, but officers said no entry was gained to the home.

Thursday, Feb. 7:

At 12:49 p.m., police were called for four thefts from cars in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Investigators said two of the vehicles were in a parking lot and one had a handgun stolen. Two other vehicles were reportedly parked at a restaurant. They had windows broken out and electronics stolen.

Wednesday, Feb. 6:

At 6:21 p.m., police made a traffic stop after a driver reportedly made a violation near the intersection of North Kirkwood Road and Adams Avenue. Authorities said the adult driver was arrested after it was determined the person was driving under the influence of alcohol.
