Cop Finds Man Pumping Gas in Stolen Car in Kirkwood

Kirkwood police said the officer first noticed George Summers because he appeared to be drunk.

A police officer noticed that a man pumping gas at a Kirkwood service station appeared to be drunk. When he checked the car’s license plate number, the officer saw the white 1993 Honda Del Sol had been reported.

George Summers, of the first block of Inez in Valley Park, the driver of the car, was charged Saturday with tampering with a motor vehicle.

Kirkwood Police said Summers admitted to stealing the car. The keys were in his pocket.

Summers is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $10,000.
