Crime Log: Acquaintance Steals Car From Kirkwood Employee

Weekly incidents from the Kirkwood Police Department.

The Kirkwood police blotter for Dec. 24-30. The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, Dec. 24

  • At 6:19 p.m., police were summoned to an eatery in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of a stolen vehicle. An employee of the business reported an acquaintance stole her vehicle while she was working. The victim learned of the theft after she received a phone call from the St Louis Metropolitan Police that her vehicle was involved in a traffic accident in the venue of St Louis. The adult acquaintance was arrested by St. Louis Police for tampering. The case for the theft of the vehicle in Kirkwood will be referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Thursday, Dec. 27

  • At 2:46 p.m., a resident from the 700 block of East Madison in Oakland called to report fraud on his credit card. The resident received a package in the mail and found the order was placed using the resident’s credit card. The resident was unaware his card number had been accessed. 

Shoplifting, Dec. 24-30

  • During the week, Kirkwood police arrested three adults for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. All offenses occurred at retail stores in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. One of the arrestees was charged with a felony due to having at least two prior theft-related convictions.  That case will be referred to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
