Crime Log: Attempted Burglary Reported in Kirkwood

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 20

  • At 7:16 a.m., officers received a report of property damage in the 100 block of West Adams Avenue. A parked vehicle sustained a broken window sometime during the overnight hours. 
  • At 12:32 p.m., police received a delayed report of a stolen wallet. The original theft occurred at a business in the 10300 block of Manchester Road during the week of April 11.  The victim recently discovered credit cards in her stolen wallet were being fraudulently used at St. Louis area businesses. 
  • At 8:50 p.m., officers responded to an eatery in the 100 block of East Jefferson Avenue for a theft report.  An adult male consumed alcoholic beverages on the premises and left without paying. Employees obtained a license plate of the vehicle as it left and the vehicle and male were located near the intersection of Big Bend Road and Ponca Trail a short time later. He was arrested for stealing. Due to a prior similar incident at the same business, he was also charged with trespassing.    

Tuesday, June 21

  • At 7:41 a.m., a theft was reported at a business in the 600 block of West Woodbine Avenue. A vehicle parked on the lot of the business had a drive shaft stolen sometime during the previous week.
  • At 3:13 p.m., a resident from the 1200 block of Rockridge Place reported an attempted burglary at the residence. Screens were removed from the rear windows of the home. Entry was not made into the residence by the suspects.

  • Police received two separate reports of thefts from vehicles. The first was reported at 6:43 a.m., at a residence in the 1200 block of Avery Court. Two unlocked vehicles had change stolen from them. A second theft from a vehicle was reported at 7:20 a.m., at a residence in the 100 block of Huntleigh Forest Drive. Nothing was stolen from the unlocked vehicle. 

Sunday, June 26

  • At 8:28 a.m., a resident from the 1600 block of View Woods Drive reported a vehicle stolen from the residence sometime during the night. Officers located a vehicle parked nearby from Town and Country. The owner of that vehicle reported his vehicle stolen during the previous night. Detectives are investigating.  

Shoplifting: June 20-26

  • Police arrested five adult males and two adult females for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. All of the offenses occurred at retail stores located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
