Crime Log: Car Stolen, Gambling Arrests in Kirkwood

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for May 16 through May 22.

Monday, May 28

  • At 7:51 a.m., police were summoned to the 1700 block of Ben Davis Lane for a theft report. The resident reported $200 worth of recently installed sod stolen from the front yard sometime during the previous overnight hours.

  • At 7:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Oakley Lane for a theft report. A 2007 silver Honda passenger car was stolen from the residence.  
  • At 5:32 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Meyer Avenue for a report of theft. The resident reported a bicycle stolen sometime during the previous night. The bicycle was recovered by officers on May 31 in the 900 block of Edna Avenue and returned to the owner. 

Wednesday, May 30

  • At 6:44 p.m., a resident from Douglass Lane reported they had been a victim of a scam online. The victim reported buying a computer over Craigslist and wired the money to the other party. The money was picked up by the seller but the computer was never sent to the Kirkwood resident. 
  • At 7:43 p.m., police received a delayed report of a vehicle break-in that occurred in the 10100 block of Manchester Road. Two nights earlier the resident’s vehicle was damaged by unknown persons who gained entry to the vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen.
  • At 3:07 p.m., police arrested four adults for gambling in the 300 block of New York Street. The cases were referred to Kirkwood Municipal Court.

Friday, June 1

At 4:57 p.m., a resident from the 1300 block of Woodgate Drive called police to report fraud. The victim’s bank account was accessed online by unknown persons and used to make over $2,200 in online purchases.  

Shoplifting: May 28 through June 3

  • During the week, Kirkwood police arrested three adults for shoplifting merchandise. All of the offenses occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. The cases were referred to Municipal Court.
