  • Kirkwood Police participated in a "Positive Enforcement" at several railroad crossings throughout Kirkwood. The focus of the effort was to remind drivers of the hazards around railroad tracks and crossings, distributing safety tips, and emphasizing and rewarding motorists if they were wearing seat belts. The prizes were small and consisted of key chains and magnets. Also participating was the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Operation Lifesaver, and Railroad Police Special Agents and officials from the Union Pacific Railroad and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railways.
