CRIME LOG: Phony Prescription Leads to Arrest in Kirkwood

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for June 18-25.

Tuesday, June 19

  • At 3:46 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated subject leaving a business in the 100 block of West Jefferson Avenue and getting into a motor vehicle to leave. The adult was located by police driving away from the establishment. The adult was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • At 1:48 a.m., police were notified of a burglar alarm sounding at a local school in the 200 block of Quan Avenue. Officers responded and discovered unknown persons had gained entry into the school through a window. Nothing was reported stolen from the school. 

Friday, June 22 

  • Officers received two separate calls for thefts from vehicles. The first was reported at 7:57 a.m. A resident from the 600 block of Craigwoods Drive had a backpack containing electronics and clothing stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the residence overnight. The second was reported at a residence in the 300 block of North Woodlawn Avenue. A purse containing credit cards and cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. 
  • At 12:11 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of North Kirkwood Road to arrest an individual with an outstanding warrant. The adult was located and arrested. In addition to the outstanding warrant the adult was found in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest and was charged through municipal court.
  • At 4:23 p.m., employees from a business in the 10400 block of Manchester Road called police about an adult attempting to fraudulently purchase prescription medication. Officers arrived and arrested the adult after the prescription given to the pharmacist was verified as fraudulent. The case will be referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. 

Saturday, June 23

  • At 12:13 a.m., officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation in the 800 block of South Kirkwood Road. The adult driver was arrested after investigation revealed he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Shoplifting: June 18-25. 

  • Kirkwood Police arrested three adults for shoplifting during the week. All of the offenses occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.  All of the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the business. One of the subjects faces a felony drug charge since he was in possession of illegal narcotics at the time of his arrest.
