Crime Log: Suspect Opens Credit Card Accounts Following Webster Groves Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Webster Groves Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Webster Groves crime log from June 12 through June 18.

Monday, June 13                           

  • Two pressure washers were stolen from an open garage in the 800 block of Hawkins Place. A suspect has been identified and police are investigating.

Tuesday, June 14

  • A 1996 Toyota Camry was stolen some time overnight while parked in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue. for details on recent vehicle thefts in Webster Groves.
  • A laptop computer was stolen from another parked and unlocked vehicle during the same time as the above incident in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue.
  • A purse was taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the victim’s garage in the 300 block of Gray Avenue. The purse contained $250 cash, checkbooks and other personal items.
  • A XM radio receiver and sunglasses were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on the street in the 500 block of Atalanta Avenue.
  • Two vehicles were damaged while parked on the lot of Edgewood Children's Center at 330 North Gore Avenue.

Thursday, June 16

  • Someone stole several pieces of jewelry from a residence in the first block of South Rock Hill Road. The suspect opened credit card accounts using the victim’s information. Police are investigating and have a person of interest.

Friday, June 17

  • A 1986 GMC Safari was taken from the parking lot of the McDonald's at 4 South Old Orchard Ave., some time between 7 p.m. and midnight. for details on recent vehicle thefts in Webster Groves.
