Fight Leads to Gunfire in Webster Groves

A Webster Groves fight involving 20 to 25 males resulted in gunshots being fired Wednesday evening in the area of Bell Avenue, police report.

At 5:56 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of Bell Avenue in reference to a large fight. At the scene, officers recovered a number of spent shell casings, Capt. Stephen Spear of the said in a statement.

Anonymous callers told police that suspects involved in the gunfire had entered two black vehicles.

During the investigation, police identified four possible suspects based on descriptions from a number of anonymous callers. However upon subsequent investigation, police found that the subjects were not involved in the incident and released them.
