Kirkwood Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Possession

Sentencing for the former law firm partner is set for Sept. 20.

Larry Bauer, a former partner of the law firm Stinson, Morrison & Hecker, pleaded guilty Thursday to five counts of possessing child pornography.

St. Louis County Police seized two computers from Bauer’s home in July 23, 2008 after they said an Internet search revealed his computer possibly contained child pornography.

Bauer, 59, entered a blind guilty plea. No plea agreement is in place. St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Robert Cohen is scheduled to sentence Bauer at 4 p.m. Sept. 20.

The charges are class B felonies, which carry sentences of 5 to 15 years in prison. St. Louis County prosecutors recommended a 10-year sentence, but Bauer’s attorneys said that was not acceptable, according to a Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly article.
