Former Teacher Pleads Guilty to Assaulting, Supplying Liquor to Students

Trevor Davenport, of Kirkwood, received two years probation, 15 days in jail and must surrender his teaching certificate.

A former teacher pleaded guilty April 8 to assaulting a teenage girl and supplying two teenagers with liquor in Kirkwood.

Trevor Davenport, 29, of the 800 block of North Geyer Avenue in Kirkwood, was sentenced to 15 days in jail for the assault charge and was placed on two years probation for the liquor charge.

Davenport, formerly a teacher in the Lincoln County School District, gave beer and Triple sec to a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old girl on Jan. 22 or Jan 23, 2011 at his home.

According to court documents, Davenport also touched the 16-year-old girl’s breast and asked if she’d be willing to have sex with him.

The girls were students at Troy Buchanan High School, where Davenport taught until he resigned after being charged.

Davenport originally was charged with second-degree child molestation and third-degree sexual misconduct in addition to supplying liquor to minors.

Davenport was given permission to serve his probation in Connecticut. Probation conditions include surrendering his teaching certificate and maintaining fulltime employment or student status.
