Glendale Residents Among Schnucks Security Breach Victims

Gendale police have received numerous reports of residents whose credit and debit cards are being used around the world after shopping at Schnucks stores.

The following information was provided by the Glendale Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 1:

At 5:07 p.m., a resident of Southridge Drive reported fraudulent purchases made on his credit union debit card. Police said the credit union notified the resident that purchases were posted at two Kroger Grocery Stores in Atlanta, GA. According to police, the resident said he frequently uses this debit card at a local Schnucks store and believes his card number was compromised as part of the recent Schnucks security breach.

April 1:

Police were called at 7:26 p.m. by a resident of Nolan Drive who reported several recent fraudulent purchases and purchase attempts were made in Atlanta, GA with her Nordstrom VISA Credit Card. Visa reportedly cancelled her card due to the fraud. The resident said she frequently uses the credit card at a local Schnucks store and believes her card number was compromised as part of the recent Schnucks security breach.

April 2:

At 11:16 a.m., a resident of the 800 block of Queen Anne Place contacted police to report several recent fraudulent purchases and purchase attempts were made with her Nordstrom VISA Credit Card in Atlanta, GA. Visa reportedly cancelled her card due to the fraud. The resident said she frequently uses the credit card at a local Schnucks store and believes her card number was compromised as part of the recent Schnucks security breach.

April 2:

Police were called at 3:59 p.m. by a resident of the 1300 block of W. Kirkham Avenue who reported discovering fraudulent transactions on her debit card from a South Carolina grocery store. Police said she frequently uses the debit card to make purchases at Schnucks and believes her number was compromised as part of the recent cyber attack at Schnucks.

April 4:

At 5:42 p.m., a resident of the 900 block of Dwyer contacted police to report she believed she was a victim of the recent cyber attack at Schnucks Markets. The woman told police she recently used her Visa card at a local Schnucks store and now she found it was used to make over $300 in fraudulent purchases in the Marshall Islands (in the northern Pacific Ocean) and in Africa.
