Inmate Stabs Michael Devlin

The convicted Kirkwood kidnapper suffered superficial wounds after being stabbed in prison last month.

Michael J. Devlin suffered superficial wounds after being stabbed with a homemade "ice pick" on April 9 at Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, MO, according to prison officials, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday morning.

Devlin, 45, was briefly hospitalized before returning to Crossroads, prison officials add, according to the Post. The former Kirkwood pizza shop manager is serving 74 life sentences for kidnapping and assaulting boys Shawn Hornbeck  and Ben Ownby. Hornbeck had been in Devlin's custody four years when Devlin was arrested in January 2007.

The Post said it has received two letters and a Corrections Department incident report about the stabbing from another inmate who said he stabbed Devlin.
