Kirkwood Police Receive at Least 65 Reports of Schnucks Related Identity Theft

Kirkwood police report the number of residents who fell victim to the Schnucks security breach continues to rise. Reports continue coming in.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, April 15 - Sunday, April 21-

Kirkwood Police took an additional sixteen reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks grocery chain credit and debit card security breach.  All of the incidents involved the victim’s credit card accounts being used in other states for purchases of various amounts. 

As previously reported by Patch, Kirkwood police had already taken almost 50 reports from residents who have fallen victim to fraud from the breach.

Earlier this week, police also issued advice to residents on how to handle the situation if they found their cards had been compromised.
