Kirkwood Driver Charged in Bicyclist's Death

Emily C. Hagan faces a charge of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in connection with a crash on the Delmar Loop.

A Kirkwood woman is facing a count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a bicyclist on the Delmar Loop earlier this year, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Friday.

Emily C. Hagan, 30, of the 400 block of North Clay Avenue, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, according to court documents.

The incident occurred Feb. 3 in the 7500 block of Delmar Blvd at about 11:20 p.m. The victim, Samuel Scott, 19, of the 7400 block of Delmar, was taken by ambulance to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and died the next afternoon, the Post reports.
