Man Choked Wife in School Parking Lot as Students Were Released, Police Say

Kirkwood Police said Gerard Paul Hill and his wife arrived separately at Christ Community Lutheran School as students were about to be released. The couple then got into an argument and Hill assaulted his wife.

A Kirkwood man is accused of assaulting his wife Monday on the parking lot of a school as students were released for the day.

Gerard Paul Hill, 59, of the 1300 block of West Adams Avenue in Kirkwood, was charged Tuesday with second-degree domestic assault.

Kirkwood Police said Hill and his wife both arrived at Christ Community Lutheran School at 110 West Woodbine at about 3:30 p.m. as students were about to be released. Hill and his wife began arguing. During the argument, Hill began choking his wife, police said.

Bail was set at $30,000 for Hill.
