Warson Woods Man Indicted on Burglary Charges

The man stole TVs from his mother's apartment.

A Warson Woods man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Wednesday on second-degree burglary and stealing charges.

In a report, St. Louis County Police said that Cody Hess, 19, of the 500 block of Flanders Drive in Warson Woods, borrowed his mother’s car while she was gone from July 2 to July 9, 2011. The key ring included a key to his mother’s apartment in the 12600 block of Woody Creek Court in unincorporated St. Louis County. She had been living in a furnished apartment provided by insurance after her house burned down.

When Hess’ mother returned July 9, she discovered two flat screen televisions were missing from the apartment.

According to the police report, Hess admitted taking the televisions and trying to sell them. He could not sell them because the he did not have the remote controls. Police recovered the TVs from Hess’ friend’s residence.

Thanks to readers who pointed out that Hess actually lives in Warson Woods, not Kirkwood. It is a couple of blocks outside Kirkwood's borders.
