Kirkwood Oil Paint, Ink Thefts Linked to Other States

Kirkwood police believe the thieves are connected to crimes in Illinois and Wisconsin, plus authorities are trying to determine how locked-up computer accessories disappeared from another local business.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

March 18:

At 3:33 p.m., police received a report of a March 16 larceny from a store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Store management said approximately $1,200 worth of oil paints and inks were taken by two people. The same two are believed to be responsible for similar thefts in Illinois and Wisconsin, police stated.

March 21: 

At 3:04 p.m., police were called about a theft from a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Three flash drives were taken from a locked cabinet. The only way to access the cabinet was with a key, police stated.
