Man Arrested in Connection With Residential Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for November 7-13.

Tuesday, November 8

Detectives arrested an adult male for leaving the scene of an accident that occurred during the week of July 4. The original incident occurred at the intersection of Manchester Road and Clay Avenue and involved two motor vehicles. The other motorist was not injured as a result of the crash. The case was referred to municipal court.

Thursday, November 10

  • Detectives arrested an adult male in Affton, in connection with a previously reported robbery at a residence in the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue.  The original incident occurred during the week of September 26 and involved money being stolen from the victim. The case was presented to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where warrants for first-degree robbery and armed criminal action were issued against James Pryor, 23, of the 7000 block of Heege in Affton. He was transferred to the St. Louis County Jail and held on $75,000 cash only bond. 
  • At 3:01 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Timberview Road for a theft report. A resident reported sometime during the previous evening a black utility trailer containing a motorcycle was stolen from a nearby parking lot.
  • At 11:19 p.m., an officer on patrol discovered a stolen vehicle on the lot of a business in the 10400 block of Manchester Road. The vehicle, a Buick Le Sabre, was reported stolen from a residence in south St. Louis County on the morning of Nov. 10. The vehicle fled from officers which followed the vehicle until it crashed into a residence in Webster Groves. The occupants of the vehicle fled and eluded capture. On Friday, Nov. 11, the adult male driver was arrested by St. Louis County Police at a restaurant in south St Louis County after an alert citizen recognized him from his picture that was broadcast on local media outlets. The case was presented to the St. Louis County where warrants for two counts of stealing over $500- motor vehicle were issued on Charles “Brad” Holzhauer, 41 years of age. He was transferred to the St. Louis County Jail and held on $75,000 cash only bond. Holzhauer is suspected in numerous residential burglaries throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Detectives from the departments involved will be working together to present all relevant burglary and theft cases to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office at a later time. Friday, November 11

  • At 4:32 p.m., an employee of a business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road discovered someone had stolen her credit card while she was working.  An unknown person entered an office in the rear of the business and stole a credit card from the victim’s purse.  The credit card was later used at several businesses located at a mall in south St. Louis County. 

Saturday, November 12

  • At 3:24 a.m., a resident from the 500 block of Crescent Drive reported seeing a person outside her home near her vehicle. Police arrived and discovered the resident’s victim had a window broken out. A backpack containing books was stolen from the vehicle. 
  • At 7:27 a.m., police received a report of a business that was burglarized overnight. A front window to the business was broken out and a hammer drill and saw were stolen.

Sunday, November 13

  • Beginning at 8:32 a.m., police received three separate reports of vehicle break-ins. The first was reported at a residence in the 100 block of North Holmes Avenue. A GPS, pair of shoes and an iPod were stolen from the vehicle. The second, reported at 12:49 p.m., was from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Smith Avenue. A GPS was stolen from the vehicle. The third vehicle was parked in the 200 block of Gilbert Street. A backpack containing medications and cash was stolen from the unlocked vehicle. 

Shoplifting, November 7-13

  • During the week, members of the arrested one adult male and one adult female for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. The male was arrested on Nov. 9, after stealing items from a business located in the 10400 block of Manchester Road. The female was arrested on Nov. 11, after stealing items from a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
