Residential Burglaries Reported in Kirkwood

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for October 24-30.

Monday, October 24

  • At 11:45 a.m., police were summoned to the 400 block of South Kirkwood Road for a theft report. Employees of a business reported cash stolen sometime during the previous few hours. Investigation by officers uncovered an adult female who cleaned the business had stolen the money. She was arrested. 

Tuesday, October 25

  • At 1:52 a.m., officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of Big Bend Road and Interstate 44. A routine driver’s license check found the driver, an adult male, had a suspended driver’s license. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested. An adult female passenger was also arrested for possession of alcohol by a person less than 21 years of age. 
  • At 5:19 p.m., a resident from the 1000 block of Barberry Lane reported a residential burglary. Entry was gained through a rear window of the residence. Coins and jewelry were stolen. The investigation continues.

Wednesday, October 26

  • At 3:29 a.m., police received a report of a burglary just occurred in the 800 block of Delchester Lane. The resident was awakened and saw a male jumping out of the front window of the home. Investigation found the suspect entered the home through an unlocked window. A laptop computer stolen from the residence was later recovered by detectives near a residence in the 11300 block of Manchester Road. Detectives are investigating. See previous article: .
  • At 7:31 a.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported at a residence in the 1400 block of Ruth Drive. A GPS was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. A second unlocked vehicle was also entered but nothing was stolen. 

Thursday, October 27

  • At 11:45 p.m., police were summoned by employees of a business in the 100 block of East Jefferson Avenue for a customer attempting to smoke marijuana inside the business. Officers arrived and located an adult male patron outside of the establishment in possession of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia. He was arrested. 

Friday, October 28

  • At 12:56 p.m., a resident from the 1200 block of Cork Elm Drive reported a theft from a vehicle. A laptop and school books were stolen sometime during the overnight hours. 

Saturday, October 29

  • At 2:18 a.m., a reckless driver was reported to police traveling on Manchester Road in the area of Geyer Road. Officers located the driver in the 11100 block of Manchester Road. The subject was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. The case will be presented to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since his he was found to have at least two previous alcohol-related traffic convictions.
  • At 9:01 a.m., police received a report of property damage in the 800 block of South Holmes Avenue in Oakland. Unknown persons cracked a large decorative clay acorn at the Backstoppers Park. 
  • On Saturday, the Kirkwood Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration held a prescription drug take back on the lot of the Kirkwood Police Department. Several hundred citizens visited during the four-hour event. Over 500 pounds of medication were turned in to be destroyed. See previous article: .

Sunday, October 30

  • At 3:50 a.m., a resident from the 300 block of North Woodlawn Avenue reported a residential burglary to police. The resident noticed his vehicle missing and determined his vehicle keys, wallet and laptop were stolen from inside the residence. The suspect gained entry through an unlocked door.

Shoplifiting, October 24-30

  • During the week, Kirkwood police arrested two adult males and two adult females for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. All offenses occurred at a retail business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. One of the females was charged with felony stealing since she had at least two previous theft-related convictions. She also had illegal narcotics in her possession at the time of her arrest.
