Police Make Drug, DUI Arrests in Kirkwood

The blotter for Dec. 12-18.

Monday, Dec. 12

• At 12:49 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious person at a residence in the 200 block of East Argonne Drive. An adult male under the age of 21 was located and found to be in possession of marijuana and intoxicating liquor. He was arrested.   
• At 6:21 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of East Argonne Drive and South Sappington Road in Oakland. A single vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver, an adult female, was discovered to be driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested. 

Tuesday, Dec. 13

• At 2:49 p.m., officers were summoned to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a theft report. A patron of the business reported her vehicle broken into while she was shopping. Her purse was stolen. 

Wednesday, Dec. 14

• At 1:12 a.m., a motorist was stopped by police for a traffic violation in the 1130 block of Big Bend Road. The driver, an adult male, was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested. 

Thursday, Dec. 15

• At 1:03 p.m., police were summoned to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for trespassing. An adult male, who was arrested previously for stealing at the same business and was advised not to return, was observed by employees inside the business. He was arrested for trespassing. 

Saturday, Dec. 17

• At 2:32 p.m., a vehicle break-in was reported in the 600 block of South Fillmore Avenue. The vehicle owner reported a two-way radio and microphone stolen from his vehicle sometime during the previous night. 

• At 8:06 p.m., officers stopped an adult male motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of Commerce and South Fillmore avenues. Officers discovered the man was in possession of illegal narcotics and marijuana. He was arrested. 

Shoplifting: Dec. 12-18

• During the week, three adult males and three adult females were arrested at Kirkwood businesses for shoplifting merchandise. One of the females arrested was charged with felony stealing because she had at least two prior theft-related convictions. The incidents occurred at businesses in the 11100 block of Big Bend Road and the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
