Police Report Home Break-in, Shoplifting

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for Jan. 2-8.

Tuesday, Jan. 3

  • At 8:46 a.m., a resident from the 1000 block of North Woodlawn Avenue reported property damage to police. Sometime during the previous overnight hours unknown persons broke a window on a vehicle parked at the residence. 
  • At 5:42 p.m., police were advised of a residential burglary in the 2000 block of Dougherty Ferry Road. A door was pried open and several items in the home were disturbed but nothing was reported stolen. 

Wednesday, Jan. 4

  • At 11:35 a.m., officers were summoned to a residence in the 200 block of East Argonne Drive for a theft report. The resident reported jewelry stolen from the home within the past week. 

Saturday, Jan. 7

  • At 12:40 a.m., police stopped a motorist for a traffic violation in the 10700 block of Big Bend Road. Officers discovered drug paraphernalia in the stopped vehicle and also concealed on the adult male driver. He was arrested.  

Sunday, Jan. 8

  • At 1:35 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 400 block of Gill Avenue. A vehicle driven by an adult male struck a parked vehicle in the roadway. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. 

Shoplifting, Jan. 3-8

  • During the week, Kirkwood police arrested six adult males for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. All offenses occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. One of the males was also charged with trespassing since he had been involved in a prior theft at the same business.  Two of the males were charged with felonies since they had at least two prior theft-related convictions.
