Kirkwood Police Nab Attempted Burglary Suspect at Bus Stop

A man was arrested for an attempted burglary in the 10900 block of Big Bend Road after a resident alerted police.

Police arrested a man who reportedly tried to break into a home in the 10900 block of Big Bend Road after he fled from the residence that was occupied.

At 10:32 a.m., Kirkwood police were alerted of the attempted break-in. The resident was home at the time and was able to provide police with a description of the suspect before he fled the scene, according to the Kirkwood police.

Officers located the man at a bus stop a short distance away from the home and arrested for the burglary attempt as well as a parole violation for a previous burglary conviction, police say.

The man was transferred to the St Louis County Jail and held on the parole violation. The incident will be referred to the St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
