Police Report Thefts, Property Damage, Drug and DUI Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The  blotter for Dec. 19-25.

Monday, Dec. 19

At 5:44 p.m., police responded to a home in the 800 block of North Clay for a report of a burglary. The residents said the home was burglarized while they were away due to construction. Jewelry was reported stolen.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

At 6:48 a.m., officers responded to two separate reports of thefts from vehicles in the 300 block of S. Kirkwood Rd. The first victim reported a bag containing a wallet with credit cards and cash stolen from her vehicle. The second theft occurred a short distance away and involved the theft of a laptop from a vehicle. Both vehicles were unlocked.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

At 2:08 p.m. police stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of S. Kirkwood Road and Interstate 44. The driver was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested.

Thursday, Dec. 22

At 8:39 p.m., police responded to disturbance between a man and woman in the 10000 block of Big Bend Blvd. The man was arrested after he was found to have damaged the woman’s vehicle. Further investigation determined the same man was responsible for a previously reported crime at a nearby apartment complex in the 10000 block of Big Bend Blvd. That incident, which occured in October, involved a storage unit that caught fire.

Friday, Dec. 23

At 11:08 p.m. officers were dispatched to a vehicle accident near the intersection of Scott and Clark. One vehicle struck two other parked vehicles. The driver left the scene before police arrived, but was located a few blocks away at a relative’s home. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of illegal narcotics.

Shoplifting: Dec. 19 - 25

Police arrested four men and one woman for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. All of the offenses occurred at a retail store located in the 1200 block of S. Kirkwood Rd.
