Local Police Will Turn Up the HEAT on I-44 This Weekend

Kirkwood and Webster Groves police will be cracking down on speeding and unbuckled and impaired drivers beginning Saturday.

The and Webster Groves police departments will join forces this weekend to put the HEAT on drivers along Interstate 44.

In particular, officers will be on the lookout for drivers who are impaired, speeding or not wearing a seatbelt. The 24-hour crackdown begins on Saturday at 6 a.m.

It's part of the three-month "HEAT Is On" campaign that began June 21. As part of the effort, law enforcement agencies across Missouri have used HEAT (High Enforcement Action Teams) on state roads to make travel safer.
