Man Accused of Taking Inappropriate Pictures at Kirkwood Retail Stores

Privacy and assault charges have been issued following a Wednesday arrest.

The St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney's Office has issued privacy and assault charges against Mauricio Vera Ramos, 33, of Arlington, TX, who is accused of taking inappropriate pictures at Kirkwood retail stores.

Last Wednesday at 6:14 p.m., Kirkwood police officers responded to a report of a male suspect taking inappropriate pictures of a woman in a store located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. According to police, Vera Ramos attempted to flee after being confronted by employees but was detained until police arrived and arrested him. 

An investigation found the man had taken several pictures in at least two Kirkwood area businesses, police said. The case was presented to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where charges of second-degree invasion of privacy and third-degree assault were issued against Vera Ramos.

Vera Ramos was transferred to the St. Louis County Jail and held on a $10,000 cash bond.

Update: According to police, Mauricio Ramos used his cell phone to snap photos of women in Wal-Mart and Plato’s Closet dressing rooms, KMOV reports.
