POLICE: 37 Arrested for Shoplifting in Warrant Sweep

Kirkwood police participated in a joint law enforcement operation that targeted alleged shoplifting offenders.

Kirkwood police aided in an area-wide warrant sweep last week that led to the arrest of 37 shoplifting suspects.

Detectives worked with officers from 10 police departments June 4-5 to apprehend suspects who had failed to appear in court for stealing charges related to shoplifting. The joint operation cleared 122 outstanding warrants for various offenses, according to the Kirkwood Police Department.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Kirkwood police worked with law enforcement officers from O’Fallon, Lake St. Louis, Chesterfield, Wentzville, St. Charles, St. Charles County, Des Peres, Frontenac, Bridgeton and St. Louis County.
