POLICE: $5000 in Jewelry Stolen From Vehicle in String of Thefts

Thieves targeted three unlocked vehicles in central Kirkwood.

Thieves made off with jewelry, a laptop, cash and credit cards last week during a string of thefts that targeted unlocked vehicles in central Kirkwood. 

Police responded to three overnight thefts the morning of July 31. At 8:17 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of Central Avenue after the owner reported more than $5000 worth of jewelry stolen from a vehicle sometime overnight.

Two more thefts were reported a short time later. The first was from Taylor Woods Drive where a bag containing a laptop computer and a wallet with credit cards was stolen. The second was from the 300 block of Way Avenue where a purse containing cash and credit cards was stolen,
