Police Arrest 'Aggressive' Solicitor

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glendale Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Glendale police arrested a 19-year-old St. Louis man on charges of Soliciting without a Proper Permit and as a fugitive of the Richmond Heights Police Department Saturday.

At 3:54 p.m., a resident of the 200 block of Elm reported an unauthorized solicitor trying to sell magazine subscriptions for "Path for Success." Officers located the man about one block away from the reporting party’s residence.

Police had responded to two reports of the man selling magazine subscriptions Friday, one in the unit block of Algonquin Estates and the other in the unit block of Devon Road. On Friday, police located the man and advised him to stop until he obtained a proper permit through Glendale City Hall.

A resident from the unit block of Devon Road told police the man used "aggressive" tactics when trying to sell the subscriptions.

The man was charged in Glendale Municipal Court with Soliciting without a Proper Permit. He was released to to Richmond Heights authorities after posting bond on the Glendale charge, according to police.
