POLICE: Out-of-Town Shoplifters Face Drug Charges

Police arrest several suspects for stealing from Kirkwood businesses.

The Kirkwood Police Department responded to a number of reports of shoplifting from Aug. 3-9.

On Monday, Sept. 3, officers were dispatched to a retail business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of shoplifters.

Four adults were observed by store employees stealing merchandise from the store. The four, two from California, one from Washington, and one from Canada, were arrested.

All four were also charged with possession of illegal narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. The cases will be referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 5:46 p.m., police were summoned to a retail business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for an adult shoplifter. The adult was arrested. He was also charged with trespassing due to being given a trespass warning at another store within the company. The warning was given when the adult was involved in a theft at the other store.

From Sept. 3-9, Kirkwood police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. Two of the four arrested face felony charges since they had at least two prio theft-related convictions. The felony cases will be referred to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. The thefts occurred at retail businesses in the 1000 and 1200 blocks of South Kirkwood Road.
