Police Seek Public's Help in Locating Dangerous Suspect

Police are asking for the public's help in locating 41-year-old Charles "Brad" Holzhauer, a parole absconder who has violent tendancies. This is the

Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, spotted Holzhauer driving a stolen vehicle from St. Louis County. He led officers on a chase and eventually crashed the car into the garage of a Webster Groves house. Officers chased him on foot, but he escaped.

Holzhauer is a suspect in five first-degree burglaries that have occured over the last month in Kirkwood, St. Louis County and Glendale. In all five cases, the residents were home during the burglaries.

In addition, Kirkwood, St. Louis County and police are seeking Holzhauer for auto theft.

In a joint statement from the Kirkwood, St. Louis County, Webster Groves and Glendale police departments, officials gave this warning: "Holzhauer should be considered a danger to the public based on his ongoing criminal activity involving burglaries of occupied homes, his parole absconder status, his willingness to flee from police with no regard safety of the citizens in the area and a statement he made to family saying he would not go back to prison."

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Holzhauer should not make contact with him. They are asked to contact the Kirkwood Police Department at 314-822-5858 or call 911 if he is spotted in another jurisdiction.
