Rash of Car Break-Ins Investigated by Kirkwood Police

Thieves hit a number of cars overnight. The calls started coming in to Kirkwood police just before 6 a.m.

July 16:

Beginning at 5:48 a.m., officers responded to three separate reports of vehicle break-ins. The first was reported in the 300 block of West Madison. The victim reported having cash and shoes stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime during the overnight hours. The second theft was reported at 8:18 a.m. in the 2000 block of Greenglen. A set of golf clubs and a gold bag were stolen from a vehicle parked at that location. The third was reported at 1:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of Greenpoint.  Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

July 17:

At 9:33 p.m., police were summoned to the 800 block of Westwood Place in Oakland for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The resident discovered his vehicle was broken into during the previous overnight hours. A pair of sunglasses and change was stolen from the vehicle.
