Five Students Expelled After St. Louis Community College Fight (Video)

Five students directly involved with a violent altercation on the college's Meramec campus have been expelled, effective immediately.

Five students directly involved in a violent fight that broke out on the campus Monday have been expelled, effective immediately, STLCC announced in a statement released Thursday.

Three of the students were arrested on charges of assault and turned over to the . Two students sustained minor injuries during the fight.

Campus police arrived on the scene within seconds of receiving a report of the altercation and handled the situation quickly and according to established college procedures, the statement says.

"The safety and security of our college’s students, faculty, staff and visitors are of our utmost concern," STLCC says.

The accompanying video was shot by a bystander who posted it on YouTube. The video service removed the video a short time later, saying it violated its terms of service. The video is posted here and the volume has been reduced substantially because it includes profanity.

Campus police have yet to file an incident report of the fight.
