Suspect Accused of Stealing 50K From Relative

Monday, Feb. 21

  • Webster Groves: A vehicle was struck while parked in the first block of Mason Avenue between 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, and 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21. The striking vehicle left the scene. Police are investigating the incident.

  • Webster Groves: A Purple Roadmaster bicycle was found in the area of Selma and Mason Avenues and is being held at the Webster Groves police station.

  • Tuesday, Feb. 22

    • Kirkwood: At 2:08 p.m., police were summoned to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of shoplifting. Employees observed an adult female stealing merchandise from the business. She was arrested.

    Wednesday, Feb. 23

    • Kirkwood: At 12:02 p.m., officers were notified of a theft from a business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. An adult female attempted to leave the business without paying for merchandise. She was arrested for stealing.

    Thursday, Feb. 24

    • Kirkwood: Detectives arrested an adult male in connection with a theft from a residence in the 400 block of North Clay Avenue. The original incident occurred during the week of Feb. 7. A debit card was stolen from the residence and used to withdraw money from a local ATM machine.

    • Webster Groves: A victim reported that sometime between Feb. 1 and Feb. 24, an unknown person gained access to their Discover Credit Card account and made fraudulent purchases. The incident, which occurred in the 700 Block Clark Avenue, is under investigation.

    Friday, Feb. 25

    • Kirkwood: At 12:21 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of West Woodbine and South Van Buren Avenues. A vehicle traveling on Woodbine Avenue left the roadway and struck a residence located in the 400 block of West Woodbine Avenue. No injuries were reported but the home sustained substantial damage.

    • Webster Groves: A Resident in the first block of Allison Avenue said she saw a thin built male looking into her daughter’s bedroom window. The man fled when he noticed the mother. 

  • Webster Groves: A victim’s representative, who has power of attorney over the victim’s finances, reported that a relative of the victim forged checks and stole money from the victim’s account in the amount of  $50,000.  Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the first block of Old Orchard Avenue.

  • Saturday, February 26

    • Kirkwood At 3:26 p.m., police handled a report of a stolen vehicle from a business in the 10800 block of Manchester Road. The vehicle was located several hours later. It was parked in a residential area of Hillsdale.  Detectives are investigating.

    • Kirkwood At 6:35 p.m., police were summoned to the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a theft report. An employee of a nearby business reported unknown persons stole cash and a camera from her vehicle.
