Theft Tops Recent Kirkwood Police Calls

The Kirkwood Police Department reports thieves target businesses, a school and are stopped in their tracks during a break-in at a home.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Tuesday, Jan. 22:

At 10:34 a.m. officers were called to a school in the 1300 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of a burglary. A teacher told police a someone broke into a classroom and stole a flat screen TV. Police said entry was gained into the classroom through an unlocked window.

Thursday, Jan. 24:

At 7:50 p.m. a resident from the 300 block of Attucks Street said someone had just broken into the home, but left when confronted by the homeowner. Detectives are investigating. Authorities said two males fled the scene in a dark vehicle.

Monday, Jan. 21 - Sunday, Jan. 27:

Four people were arrested for allegedly shoplifting from area businesses. Police report the thefts happened at two retail stores in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. All four cases are being handled in municipal court, investigators stated.
