Vehicles Stolen, Homes Burglarized in Webster Groves

The following arrest information was supplied by the Webster Groves Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Webster Groves police blotter for June 5 through June 11.

Sunday, June 5

  • A boys Trek bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Tuxedo Boulevard.

Monday, June 6

  • Between 4 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. on Monday, someone stole a Garmin GPS from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of North Forest Avenue.
  • Between 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, someone stole a black 2005 Acura from a driveway in the first block of Sylvester Avenue. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition at the time of the theft. The vehicle was recovered in Rock Hill and returned to the owner. A suspect is in custody.
  • A boys Giant bicycle with white, red and black stripes was reported stolen from a garage. A witness saw a black male about 14 years old leave the yard of a residence in the 100 block of Mason Avenue on a bicycle and ride north on Mason Avenue.
  • Two mountain bikes and a gas scooter were found near the dumpster of Sullins Gas station, 3100 S. Brentwood Blvd. The bikes were brought to the Webster Groves police station and the scooter was towed to Terry’s Tow lot.
  • On May 31, a victim in the 600 block of North Forest Avenue received a letter from his bank regarding a change of address. When he reviewed his statement, he found several fraudulent transactions.
  • Between 9:30 a.m. and noon, someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 500 block of North Elm Avenue while the owner was away and stole a purse, a laptop computer and jewelry.
  • Between 1 a.m. and 3 p.m. someone stole a wallet from a vehicle parked in the first block of East Cedar Avenue.
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., someone stole a GPS and an iPod from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of South Gore Avenue.

Tuesday, June 7

  • Between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 2 p.m. on Friday, someone used a key or other sharp object to damage a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Hollywood Place.
  • Someone stole a 1998 Oldsmobile while it was disabled and parked on the shoulder of Interstate 44 near Elm.
  • Between 7:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. someone entered a residence in the 1300 block of South Elm Avenue and stole a Wii game system, a laptop computer, a checkbook and cash..

Wednesday, June 8

  • Sometime between Monday and Wednesday someone entered a garage in the first block of South Elm Avenue and stole three guitars and other musical equipment.
  • While an employee was walking to her car with a bank deposit bag containing cash, a white male suspect ran up to her and grabbed the bag out of her hand. He fled on foot north over the railroad tracks behind the business. The incident occured in the 200 block of West Lockwood Avenue.

Thursday, June 9

  • Two vehicles had windows broken while parked on the lot in the 8500 block of Watson Road. Nothing was taken.

Friday, June 10

  • An amplifier and speakers were taken from a trailer parked in the 600 block of South Elm Avenue behind Hixon Middle School.
  • Between Thursday night and Friday morning, someone stole a purse from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 600 block of Hollywood Place. The purse contained a wallet, checkbook, credit cards and other personal information. Some items were later recovered and returned to the owner.
  • The victim’s purse, sunglasses and  radar detector were stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Westborough Place. Items were later recovered and returned to the owner.
