Webster Groves Police Report Assault, Burglaries, Tortoise Theft

Tuesday, April 19

  • While conducting a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Elm Avenue, police found the driver in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged.
  •  A 19-year-old Webster University student struck another student during an argument in a dorm room in the 200 block of Hazel Avenue. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault.

  • Sometime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., someone broke the passenger side window from the victim’s car while it was parked in the area of West Pacific Avenue and Lincoln Street.
  • Someone damaged several cars that were parked in the parking lot of Schnucks at 8650 Big Bend Blvd. Police have identified a suspect and are investigating.

Friday, April 22

  • Sometime between 9 a.m. and noon, someone kicked in the front door of a residence in the 900 block of Tuxedo Boulevard and stole two televisions and a laptop computer. One TV was later located in a recovered stolen car in St. Louis City.
  • Schnucks security apprehended a 19-year-old female attempting to steal three bottles of liquor valued at over $53 from the grocery store located at 8650 Big Bend Blvd. The suspect was arrested by police and charged with stealing.
  • Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m., someone stole the victim’s pet tortoise from the front yard of his home in the 400 block of California Avenue. The tortoise is described as 30 to 40 pounds and has a dog ID tag affixed to its shell.

  • A lawn mower was taken from an open garage in the 100 block of Roseacre Lane sometime overnight.
  • Sometime between 6 p.m. on Thursday and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, someone kicked in the front door of a home in the 800 block of Providence Avenue and stole a flat screen Samsung TV.
