Webster Groves Police Respond to Report of Suspicious Driver Near Elementary School

Monday, April 11

  • Graffiti was spray painted on a restroom door in the park located in the 800 block of Bell Avenue between midnight and 10 a.m.
  • An unknown person(s) stole a victim’s jacket containing car keys, credit cards and a wallet. The incident occurred between noon and 2:45 p.m., in the 8300 block of Big Bend Boulevard.
  • At approximately 8:54 p.m., there was a reported theft of liquor in the 8600 block of Big Bend Boulevard. Two suspects were seen leaving the store in a newer model white Lexus with an unknown license plate heading south from the parking lot toward Frisco Avenue.
  • Sometime between 12:30 p.m. on April 9 and 11:39 a.m. on April 11, the steering column of a vehicle was damaged while parked in the 10 block of Wilshire Terrace. No items were taken.

  • Police responded for a report of damage to a vehicle in the 100 block of Selma Avenue. The tires on the victim’s car were flattened.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., in the 300 block of West Pacific Avenue.

Thursday, April 14

  • Police were called for a suspicious person in the 400 block of Florence Avenue. Three female grade school students were walking home from Edgar Road Elementary School at 3:35 p.m. As they were walking, a white vehicle occupied by an older white male stopped near Edgar Road and Florence Avenue. The three students became frightened and ran. The driver never spoke to the students and the vehicle turned around and headed back toward Edgar Road School.

  • The victim reported his or her vehicle was struck at approximately 6:15 a.m. on East Interstate 44.  The striking vehicle was a silver or blue passenger vehicle similar to a Toyota Camry and it left the scene of the accident.
