1000 Kirkwood Homes Without Power After Storm

City employees are working throughout the night, and officials are confident power will be restored by morning.

The released the following information Saturday.

On Saturday, at approximately 7 p.m., a storm rolled through Kirkwood and although it brought much needed rain it also brought high winds.

Those high winds caused branches and in some cases entire trees to come down which in turn caused extensive power outages throughout northern Kirkwood.

The outages extend roughly from the east city limit to Woodlawn Avenue both north and south of Manchester Road.

Currently there are approximately 1,000 homes in Kirkwood without power.   Employees of the City of Kirkwood Street Department are currently working to clear the downed trees and Kirkwood Electric is working to restore power.

Employees of Kirkwood Electric will be working throughout the night to restore power and we are confident that power will be restored to all homes before morning.
