Date Set for Kirkwood Candidate Forum

Two candidates for Mayor of Kirkwood and five candidates for the Kirkwood City Council will answer questions from attendees at the 2012 Kirkwood Candidate Forum.

Residents will get a chance to learn where candidates for the Mayor of Kirkwood and the Kirkwood City Council stand on issues during a candidate forum March 13 at St. Louis Community College: Meramec.

Joseph Godi is challenging incumbent Art McDonnell for the position of Mayor of Kirkwood, and five candidates are vying for three open seats on the Kirkwood City Council. They include incumbents Gina Jaksetic and Gerry Biedenstein, and challengers Jim Wilder, Dan Kertz and Nancy Luetzow. Tim Griffin is term limited and must step off the council.

Candidates will answer questions submitted by attendees immediately before the start of the forum at 7 p.m. The forum will be held in Meramec's Student Center Building, second floor, in Room 200. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Kirkwood Living Green, in association with Keep Kirkwood Green, is sponsoring the 2012 Kirkwood Candidates Forum. The League of Women Voters of St. Louis will moderate the event.

City elections will be held April 3.
