FDA Warns Kirkwood Gas Stations After Underage Sales

The FDA found that two Kirkwood gas stations sold cigarettes to minors earlier this year.

Two Kirkwood gas stations sold cigarettes to minors during compliance checks earlier this year, according to FDA warning letters.

An employee of sold a pack of Marlboro cigarettes to a minor on June 22, according to a warning letter dated Sept. 15. An employee of  sold a pack of Marlboro cigarettes to a minor on June 22, according to a warning letter dated Oct. 6.

In both cases, employees failed to verify that the purchasers were 18 years of age or older by checking photo IDs, the letters say.
