Holiday Shoppers Get Free Valet Parking in Downtown Kirkwood

On Dec. 22 and 23, the special business district will be offering free valet parking.

On Dec. 15, at the, in the midst of hot debate regarding downtown parking, resident Dona Poe brought the council refreshing good news: there will be free Valet Parking in downtown Kirkwood for last-minute holiday shoppers.

“I’ve been telling you for a long time that I think we need more parking in downtown Kirkwood, so I’m going to tell you something new this evening,” said Poe, executive director of the Downtown Kirkwood Special Business District, before she informed the council of the business district’s plans to offer free valet parking on Dec. 22 and 23.

Poe said valet parking will be free from noon to 9 p.m. for last-minute shoppers who wish to avoid the hassle of finding parking in downtown Kirkwood. Those interested can pull up their vehicles to the Kirkwood Train Station at 110 W. Argonne Drive, where a professional valet will park their vehicle. Vehicles must be retrieved by 9 p.m.

“We are hoping people are able to come to downtown Kirkwood for their last minute shopping and we are hoping we can accommodate all of them,” Poe said.
