Kids Spotted at Polls in Kirkwood on Election Day

Even if youngsters can't vote, Kirkwood parents offer their kids a real-life lesson in civic duty.

Melinda Brault brought her son and Keysor Elementary School student to the Kirkwood Community Center Tuesday morning when she voted. It wasn't out of necessity but rather the youngster's desire to be a part of the political process.

"He wanted to come and see how the voting machine worked," Brault said, adding her son's interest was piqued in the voting process after Keysor held a mock election.

The Keysor student quickly is becoming a veteran of the polls. This is his second time accompanying his mother on Election Day.
