Kirkwood Voters Regret Not Getting Paper Ballots

A reader reports three out of four electronic voting machines failing at North Kirkwood Middle School this morning.

Patch has been asking readers across the St. Louis region how long it took them to vote today. While most reported getting in and out in 10 minutes, some voters who stopped by Kirkwood polling places had to wait for hours, according to comments.

Jim W reports that it took from 10:30 a.m. to noon to vote at North Kirkwood Middle School in Kirkwood. According to Jim, three out of four electronic machines failed while he was there and were not operational by the time he left.

"If you are voting here, get the paper ballot!" he advises readers.

"Lines continuous at keys or, no wait if u pass on electronic ballot and chose paper one!" says Ron G.

From Kirkwood Patch Facebook, Brenna Taylor says it took about 30 minutes at 9:30 a.m. to vote at Kirkwood City Hall using the voting machine.

"City Hall has three machines so paper voting was going much faster, but the staff was really efficient and helpful. Very good experience," she says.

At Kirkwood High School and Kirkwood Community Center, the wait time was relatively short, about 10-15 minutes, around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

How long did you have to wait to vote?

It is an illustrated nursing bra, but with one of the sides down, revealing a stylized, butRead More anatomically correct, breast. I agree it's a little much.
