Kirkwood Workers Combat Effects of Hurricane Sandy

Kirkwood Electric workers are lending a much needed hand to restoring power after hurricane Sandy has left millions without power.

Even though Kirkwood didn't feel the impact of hurricane Sandy, it didn't stop the city from mobilizing its forces to help some of the millions who have been hit hard with power outages.

On Monday, Kirkwood Electric crews headed to West Virginia to help restore power as a result of damage caused by hurricane Sandy on the state, according to City of Kirkwood Facebook.

The effort is part of a mutual aid contingent from Missouri. Kirkwood Electric Distribution Engineer Rick McKinley heads up the Missouri Mutual Aid program.
