Before representing Kirkwood in Jefferson City, Stream was a member of the Kirkwood School Board for 12 years, two of which he served as president. He also served as vice commander for American Legion Post 156, a tutor for Hope Unlimited, Hope Unlimited Board President. He is a member of Greentree Community Church and the Kirkwood-Des Peres Chamber of Commerce.
